Possessing forty springs in the area and a casual one hundred in the near vicinity, Marianske Lazne undoubtedly holds its own as Czech's second largest spa. A popular destination with relaxation, beauty and wellness seekers, it was a firm favourite with King Edward VII and even Goethe and Chopin popped in to be pampered.
The centre is renowned for its neo-classical architecture and rather apt singing fountain, with a pool which spans an eyebrow raising eighteen meters in diameter and, like its watery descendants, springs to life every odd hour with its amazing jet and light displays. Enjoy the charming town with its baroque revival colonnade and lattice of walking trails.
- Visit the 800 year-old Tepla Monastery with its cool church and library stocked with rare and religious works.
- You can't tour this spa town without tasting some of its water, available from the Colonnade.
