Lincoln is a thriving city. Its Cathedral ranks as the third largest in England and is one of the country's most popular places to visit. Owning magnificent 14th-century stone carvings, the spectacular 'Bishop’s Eye' stained glass window and the legendary Lincoln Imp gargoyle, the Cathedral has recently gained Hollywood status used for the filming of the Da Vinci Code in lieu of Westminster Abbey.
Lincoln castle is also worth a visit on your coach tour, another of William the Conqueror's forts of 1068. Head up the sharp incline of Steep Hill to take a guided tour of the castle's magnificent grounds, gaze out over rolling countryside and feast your eyes on one of only four original Magna Carta documents to exist. After that, unwind at The Lawn and enjoy the Tropical Conservatory and John Derber garden.
- Wander around Lincoln's narrow cobbled streets or head up to the Cathedral Quarter to relax in its choice of eateries.
