The Chelsea Flower Show 2016 Highlights

Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London

24–28 May 2016

The Chelsea Flower Show is an annual affair that is packed with beautiful plants, amazing designs and eye-catching show gardens. For five days in May, the Royal Gardens will be transferred in order to accommodate one of the biggest flower shows in the world.

Displays You Should Be On a Lookout For

Some of the displays that you should be on a lookout for include:

  • The floral arch and photographic exhibits that will be made to honor the 90th birthday of the Queen who is a patron of the Royal Horticulture Society (RHS).
  • The carriage at the Great Pavilion that would be 60 feet big and will be a part of the 6,000sq ft planted-up station.
  • The acoustic garden by Dame Evelyn Glennie.

Beautiful Garden Designs

2016 will be the year of exceptional designs and excellent plantsmanship. Just like every year, it is expected that the participants will come up with something unique and beautiful.

Theme For 2016

The theme for this year will revolve around adding greenery to your everyday spaces. The theme ‘Health, Happiness and Horticulture’ will be seen in most of the designs. The show garden by Chris Beardshaw’s and Morgan Stanley will be relocated to the Great Ormond Street Hospital for the patients. Other than this, Alison Doxey and Stephen Welch have come up with the idea of The Garden Bed that will work as green space for the patients.

What to Expect

The Great Pavilion will have more than 100 plant breeders and horticulture societies that will have floral exhibits, which will take your breath away. Make sure you check out the interactive Discovery zone as it will be highlighting the importance of plant science. It is safe to say that this year’s Chelsea Flower Show looks quite promising.
