Dates confirmed for the F1 Grand Prix 2016 Season

Dates confirmed for the F1 Grand Prix 2016 Season

The date for the 2016 British Grand Prix has now been confirmed by the FIA. The Formula One racing governing body has confirmed the full calendar for season running from March to November.

As well as deciding the calendar they have also raised the number of races per season from 20 to 21. This will make this a record number of races in one season, the previous record having been set in 2012 of 20 races.

The new race which will be featured in the calendar is Baku in Azerbaijan on 17-19 June 2016. The Grand Prix will also make a return to Germany and the Hockenheim track following it being infamously cancelled in 2015. Australia will once again host the opening race on the 18-20 March, whilst Abu Dhabi will once again close the season between 25-27 November.
