Billy Elliot to close in the West End
After 11 successful years Billy Elliot the Musical will close in the West End in April. The show which has won many awards including Olivier has played over 4,600 shows to thousands of people in and visiting the capital.
The musical which tells the story of Billy, a young boy from a northern mining town in the midst of the miners strike in the 1980s first opened in 2005. Since opening in the UK, it has played in theatres across the world with over 90 boys playing the lead role of Billy.
The Musical will close from the Victoria Palace Theatre and will go on tour around the UK including to the North East where the show is set.
