London's New Walking Tube Map

London's New Walking Tube Map

Transport for London bosses have released a new London Underground map with a twist. The new Map shows the tube network as we know it but with the walking times between each stop. It may well encourage commuters to walk short journeys instead of using the busy Underground system.

The map was created after enthusiasts made unofficial versions and had gained popularity.

Focussing on Zones 1 & 2, the map clearly shows in some instances it would be quicker to walk from destination to destination instead of boarding the Underground. For example a walk from Leicester Square to Covent Garden will take just 4 minutes on foot and probably longer using the Tube.

The new walking Tube Map is thought to be a great resource for visitors to the capital as many great attractions are in close proximity to each other. By walking tourists and visitors will experience more of what London has to offer than seen on a Tube ride.

And, if you haven’t seen it before here is a video of a man racing a tube train and it’s definitely worth a watch!
