It Pays to be Green says ABTA
A new study by ABTA the UK’s largest travel association representing tour operators and travel agents has found that travel companies with a good environmental record are increasingly gaining commercial advantage.
It is thought that over a quarter of consumers would be likely to choose one company over another based on their environmental record. There is also an increase in the number of people who are prepared to pay more to travel with a holiday company who have a good environmental record.
Consumers agree that it is up to the travel company to ensure they are being environmentally responsible. It is stated that the age group between 25-34 years old are most likely to value companies with a good environmental record, suggesting we will see further demand for environmental credentials in the future.
