Deserts are usually barren but the unique razzmatazz of Las Vegas saves the
arid Mojave Desert from the same fate. Characterised by its neon drenched Strip,
Las Vegas is tacky extravagance, roller coasters atop hotels, sky-high dining,
speed weddings and gargantuan replicas rolled into one. Never seen the Sphinx,
the Statue of Liberty or floated down a Venice canal on a gondola? Don't worry;
it's all there in Vegas.
Tour Las Vegas
The entertainment in Las Vegas revolves around the insanely grand hotels that
dominate each side of the Strip, of which the Mirage,
Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, MGM
Grand and Luxor at the south end are some of the most
deluxe. Each houses nightclubs and casinos open till the sun rises and most,
like Caesar's Palace and MGM Grand, frequently lure in world-famous entertainers
from Celine Dion to the Rolling Stones. If gambling fails to lighten your
wallet, then the designer shops at Caesar's Palace Forum, the Aladdin and the
clutch of upscale boutiques at the Bellagio will certainly do the trick. Be
prepared to be wowed on a holiday to Las Vegas!
- Pack your best dinner suit and take to the tables at one of Vegas's casinos,
or indulge in a glitzy show in America's entertainment capital.
