It won't be long until Strictly hits our screens for the 2016 installment of the hit show Strictly Come Dancing... We already know that Will Young, Louise Redknapp, Ed Balls and more will be battling to win the coveted Strictly Glitterball Trophy... We simply can't wait.

For those of you not in the know, Strictly Come Dancing is a popular television show that is a modern take on the talent show Come Dancing which ran until 1998. Strictly Come Dancing features a number of celebrity contestants who are partnered with their professional ballroom dancer and then have to learn and perform a series of routines competing against one another for the coveted Glitter Ball trophy. Last year's Strictly Come Dancing winners were model Abbey Clancy and her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec who clinched the title and gliterball trophy with their energetic quickstep.

Strictly Come Dancing was first aired in May 2004 and has continued to grow in popularity with TV audiences across the world. Viewers have been captivated as couples perform a series of routines including: the Cha Cha Cha, Quickstep, Tango, Paso Doble and Samba among others. The American Smooth and Viennese Waltz were added for Series 3 with the Salsa and Argentine Tango added in Series 4. No further dances were added until Series 7 when the couples had the choice of performing the Charleston or a Rock and Roll number. The 10th series introduced 'Dance Fusion' where contestants were asked to roll two routines into one dance. The Showdance, a freestyle routine, has always been a major feature of Strictly Come Dancing and is performed in the show Final.

The celebrities and their partners have to first impress the Judging Panel starring Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman (Head Judge) and Darcey Bussell who will each give the performance a mark out of ten before the phone lines are open for the viewing public to call and vote to keep their favourite couple in the competition. Those couples with the lowest number of votes will then be asked to perform their routine again in the Show's Dance Off where the Judges will then vote for the celebrity and dance partner who has performed the best to keep them in the competition.

When the series comes to an end, fans of the show can book tickets to see the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour which is performed at a series of venues across the UK. The Strictly Come Dancing Live tour features all the best bits of the TV series and a selection of the celebrity contestants will perform their most popular routines in front of the Judging Panel. Members of the audience will then be given the opportunity to vote for their favourite on the night.

Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour packages typically include: return coach travel, accommodation in a quality hotel with breakfast (unless it's a day trip), hotel-to-venue transfers, meals and a ticket to see the show.
