This year will see a nationwide celebration of the Queen’s 90th Birthday, there are a number of official events happening throughout May and June to mark this momentous occasion.

Windsor Castle – 13th May 2016

Celebrating her life, her dedication to the Commonwealth nations, her love of horses and involvement with the Armed Forces, this once in a lifetime event promises to be a spectacle. The show will last for 90 minutes and include over 1,500 participants and 900 horses. The journey across 90 years will explore the Queen’s birth in April 1926, World War Two, marriage, her coronation and a glorious reign of over 60 years.

The show will use actors, horses, dancers and bands to tell the story. It will also feature video projections, theatrical lighting, LED effects and a kaleidoscope of memories and achievements.

There will be just four performances of this unique show, so don’t miss your opportunity to be part of the historic celebrations.

London – 09 June 2016

There will be a number of events in London to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday. On Friday 10th June 2016, the Queen and members of the Royal Family will make their way from Buckingham Palace to St Paul’s Cathedral for a Service of Thanksgiving. After they will return in a carriage procession back to Buckingham Palace. Crowds will be lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the Queen on this special weekend.

On Saturday 11th June, the annual Trooping the Colour will take place. This spectacular Military display takes place on Horse Guards Parade and will mark the Queen’s Official Birthday. Tickets to the event are available by private application only.

After the Trooping the Colour, the Queen will lead the troops down the Mall to Buckingham Palace. There will be a traditional 41 gun salute from the Tower of London and Green Park before the Royal Family will assemble on the Balcony for the RAF fly past.

The Birthday celebrations will culminate on Sunday 12th June with a street party along the Mall. The Street Party is invitation only for those lucky enough to be selected, but celebrations will be continuing in Green Park and St James’ Park with big screens to catch all the action.

The Queen's actual Birthday is the 21st April 1926, her official Birthday is celebrated on a Saturday each year in June.
