For the first time in the nine year history of The X Factor, the finals were staged outside of London with both shows being filmed at Manchester Central. The show included duets with the mentors of the finalists as well as show-stopping performances by Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Kelly Clarkson and One Direction.
