Happy Birthday to Blackpool Illuminations

This year is certainly proving to be a special one for the UK what with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens birthday, the 100th anniversary of Titanic’s maiden voyage and how could we forget Great Britain’s golden achievements in the British Summer of Sport that took hold in London? There’s one more celebration to add to the list and that is the 100th birthday of the Blackpool Illuminations. Top 5 Stately Homes You Must Visit

It would appear that The Lonely Planet considers Castle Howard to be one of the world’s Top 10 grand homes but did you know that there are many other stately homes that you simply must visit at least once in your lifetime? The best way to see these stunning buildings is to travel on coach holidays where a guide will take you around these grand estates and provide you with little titbits of history taking you back to the time when they were first occupied.
