Name: Rachel Jones
Favourite destinations: New York, Sharm el Sheikh, Florida, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Egypt....somebody stop me (said a la Jim Carey-stylee from The Mask)!
Most memorable holiday: Going to New York and seeing all the places that I'd seen on TV or in the movies such as: the fountain in Central Park (used in title sequence for Friends), the Brooklyn Bridge, the Wall Street sign, Bloomingdales, Macys, Tiffanys, 5th Avenue, Grand Central Station, Madison Square Gardens, The Empire State Building, Statue Of Liberty and Ground Zero. It was just an amazing week in my life plus we travelled at the beginning of December (very cold) but everything was all Christmassy and one of the highlights was it snowed so could ice skate in Central Park – fabulous!
If I could escape for the weekend, I would: Go to Paris as I have always wanted to go and see whether it really adds up to its rep of being the most romantic city in the world! It would be great to visit the Eiffel Tower, take a cruise along the River Seine, pop into the Louvre & see if I can make the Mona Lisa smile or follow the trail of the Da Vinci Code as I loved that film!
If someone gave me £5000 to spend on a holiday, I would: Really get away from it all, on the other side of the world, by booking a holiday to Australia! You see so much about this country on TV that it would just be great to actually visit it for myself. I'd want to give myself a challenge and climb the Sydney Harbour, experience opera for the first time at the Sydney Opera House, head out to the outback and perhaps have a go at the didgeridoo!
Suitcase Essentials: Clothes (obviously), suntan lotion, a good book, plenty of magazines, mp3 player/iPod, camera and boiled sweets for the flight!
City Slicker or Beach Bod?: Definitely a Beach Bod – there's nothing I like more than to find a good spot on the beach, collapse on a sun-lounger, slap on the lotion & shades and get into a really good book!
