Name: Kate Glanfield
Favourite destinations: Brazil, Vegas, Rome, Whitsunday Islands, London, Thailand, Laos… where do I stop?
Most memorable holiday: Mine and my husband's epic 4 month adventure round the world to South America, New Zealand and South East Asia. We trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, lured tarantulas out of their holes in the Peruvian Amazon, bungee-jumped, sky-dived, sipped coconut water on Copacobana Beach, survived the favelas in Rio, ate weird things at street stands in Cambodia and full moon partied in Thailand. It was a blast. That said, our honeymoon cruising the Pacific Coast highway in a convertible Mustang then chilling out on Waikiki Beach in Oahu was pretty good too.
If I could escape for the weekend, I would: Head up to Scotland for a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train. It's been voted one of the most stunning railway journeys in the world and is only on the doorstep.
If someone gave me £5000 to spend on a holiday, I would: Look into how much it would be to stay on Necker Island, Richard Branson's private island in the Caribbean – or do the Maldives 5 star.
Suitcase Essentials: IPod, Kindle, bikini – after carrying my world around in a rucksack I travel light these days!
City Slicker or Beach Bod?: I love city breaks and sightseeing, but given the choice nothing is more soul satisfying than being star-fished on a beach with a good book and the sea at hand.
