Nestled amidst the lochs, glens, literature-inspired lakes and snow-clad peaks of the beautiful Trossachs, Callander has a lot to offer on a Scottish holiday. It is the largest town in the southern Trossachs boasting some fine views but more famously, it is at the heart of Rob Roy country where the 18th century bandit demonstrated his penchant for cattle hustling and smuggling. The Rob Roy Visitor Centre in the town is highly popular, with tourists from all over the world making a beeline here to discover more about Scotland's famous hero through displays and audio-visuals.
Tour Callander
The Visitor Centre is undoubtedly the town's key attraction but this isn't all there is to do on a coach holiday to Callander. The town's location in the Trossachs means that rolling countryside, nature's stunning colours and tranquillity are never further away than around the corner, so it's little wonder that the town is a centre for outdoor activity. Aside from exploring the surrounding area on a touring holiday, visitors can immerse themselves further in the Rob Roy legend and head to the churchyard at Balquhidder to see the hero's tomb.
