A fertile land of farmland, forests and of course vineyards, every thing about Burgundy represents finer things: Speciality wines so flavoursome that it's a shame to drink them, striking palaces and cathedrals and world-renowned mustard. The wine trail is what attracts most visitors here on a French holiday, with the region's restaurants and cellars offering plenty of opportunities to sample.
Tour Burgundy's capital Dijon and appreciate the magnificent Ducal Palace, once owned by the Dukes of Burgundy. Historic Beaune should be visited as the heart of the region's wine country and Fontenay, with its World Heritage listed Cistercian Abbey.
