The northwesterly regions of Brittany and Finistere have a mysterious air about them, which probably has something to do with the age-old Celtic influence and mix of French and Breton languages. Brittany's easy proximity to England and the Channel Isles means that it's the first port of call for many visitors on a trip to France.
St. Malo is the region's tourist hotspot and rightly so given its narrow street charm, city walls and medieval feel. A walk around the ramparts will best portray Brittany's most popular destination. Another must-see on a coach trip is the famed Abbey of Mont St-Michel close to Brittany's border - visit the incredible Gothic Abbey at night to experience the magic atmosphere.
