Must Sees and Dos for the Edinburgh Tattoo

This week sees the start of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (5th Aug 2011) which is definitely one of the major highlights of any coach holidays to Scotland. The Tattoo is an extremely popular event with tickets selling out almost as soon as they go on sale, so if you're one of the lucky ones you're in for a military treat this year! With this in mind, we thought we'd take a little look into the Edinburgh Tattoo and provide you with some little known facts about the event, as well as some 'Must-sees' and ‘'ust-dos' when at the Tattoo – a little taster if you like, giving you an idea of what to expect without giving the game away!

Classical music pulls in the crowds

One of the world’s greatest classical music festivals, BBC Proms 2011, has begun. Are you one of the lucky few that has managed to book coach holidays to this fabulous event? If so, make sure you tinkle those ivories and take along your Union Jack. To coincide with this fabulous musical extravaganza, we could quite easily cherry-pick some of the other great classical concerts due to take place at some point during the year but we thought we’d be a little different! Celebrating the great outdoors

Figures recently compiled show that paying a visit to National Parks is not only good for you but also good for the local economy. The National Park Authorities aim to make sure these are kept beautiful, open and accessible so that everyone can take time out from the stresses of daily life to refresh mind, body and spirit in stunning natural surroundings. So to coincide with it being National Parks Week (25-31 July 2011) where the great outdoors is celebrated, we thought we’d cherry pick a few National Parks across the world that you simply must visit on coach holidays at least once in your lifetime.

It's not just about the football

With the Premier League due to get underway for a new season in August 2011, we thought we’d take a look at coach holidays to some of the destinations where the most popular Football Clubs reside to show you what you can do to make the most of your time when cheering on your favourite football team. There are so many wonderful attractions to visit from historic houses to parklands, shopping malls to fantastic eateries – there’s really nothing stopping you for making the most out of city breaks when in the area for a footie game…

The very best of British

Recent research has shown that since the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, many of us are feeling more patriotic with almost a third of those interviewed saying that they were proud to be British. Almost half of those people who took part in the poll said they felt an immense sense of pride as they watched Wills and Kate take their vows in Westminster Abbey. Other things that made Great Britain so ‘great’ were British History, the NHS and our armed forces. To coincide with this poll, we thought we would create a Top 5 of destinations in the UK that you guys should visit on coach holidays to truly discover how great our country really is…
